Hearing Aids

Very few people are deaf with no hearing at all. Usually there is some hearing, which can be illustrated on an audiogram. In these cases a hearing aid can be fitted to make maximum use of the residual hearing.

Euthymiades Audiology Centre Ltd is in a position to provide hearing aids that give:

  • maximum information from environmental sounds; for example the sound of the doorbell or birds singing etc.
  • maximum speech intelligibility
  • minimum interference from background noise
  • minimum distortion
  • GSM compatibility
  • various programs according to different acoustic enviroments.

There is a very wide range of hearing aids available. The hearing impaired person can be fitted according to his/her specific needs.

BODY-WORN

Visit A&M Hearing LtdMicrophone, amplifier and batteries are all housed in the hearing aid case. This is connected by a cord to an external receiver, which in turn attaches to a solid earmould. The high gain and output and the low frequency response provided by the BW are advantageous to the very severely or profoundly hard of hearing persons. The large size of the controls can be of help to people with manual dexterity problems. However, nowadays there are BTE hearing aids so powerful that make BW aids obsolete.

SPECTACLE-HEARING AIDS

Visit ViennatoneThere is a solution when the person needs both glasses and hearing aids. Bone as well as Air conduction spectacle aids are available. In the case of the latter, all the hearing aid components are housed in the arm of the spectacle and connected to the ear canal by a tube or earmould. The bone conduction ones (nothing in the ear) are ideal for cases of conductive hearing losses. Also, when for some reason, no earmould can be used.
